THERE ARE NO CATS IN THIS BOOK! The cats are out again!

It's out! It's out! My new book is out!
I just went to my local bookshop to sign a big load, and in fact this is how I found out that I'd out already. I completely forgot to have a launch! Anyone up for an impromptu quasi late launch gathering of some sort? I feel completely not able to organise it while moving house, but I do rather want to celebrate this silly book, I'm proud of it...
So... quick, head to Review Bookshop if you can and get one of these signed copies, or else get an unsigned one from your local bookseller... you know you need one!

Viv I cannot tell you how eagerly so many little hands and feet and smiles have been waiting for this new book. I went to see a friend last week and her little crazy boy will not be parted from there are cats in this book, it's the first book he has ever loved and he will have it still when he is grown and whiskery. Will head off to buy one in canterbury if they are in, will read it to my brand new girl. Thank you Viv you are deeply wonderful. sarah xxxxx

Hi Viv, I haven't been checking your blog for a while - busy with the college work, and I see lots of fantastic news. Congratulations on Greenaway shortlist, Greenaway Shadowing Favourite and the new book!
should be following your blog more regularly as it has lots of positive news. Good luck!
Have to run to waterstones to see the new book with no cats!

I can't wait to see and experience this new one- the first one is pure genius. It is so very original, fun, fresh and completely charming. It's definitely in my top 5picture books of all time. A big congratulations!

Well I forgot too - I pre-ordered it and when it came yesterday from Amazon it was a delightful surprise.

My son is severely autistic. I had never seen him respond to a book the way he did to the first Cats book. He has always loved text, and read before he could talk, but before we read it he was largely reading to decode. Something about the charming and friendly Cats and the interaction literally demanded by them in the book opened him up. He read it, with inflection and great drama, for months. He types it out. He recreates it with other characters in place of the cats - his favorite is movie studio logos, of all things - so we have Warner Brothers, Village Roadshow and DiC in this book :-)

Anyway, the new book was received with great joy and excitement and has been read approximately six dozen times since. I foresee many OOTB (out of the book) adventures in our future.

Thank you again for writing these books, Viviane. The connections they have made for this one strange little boy are pearls beyond price.

Oh that makes me happy, I am so glad he liked the second book, too!
And I thoroughly approve of a re-mix using movie studio logos. I rather like them myself.
Hurrah!!
