...

I am using an amazing range of drawing pencils at the moment. Last night when I found myself too tired to work any more I lined them all up for no particular reason, just because it's reassuring to look at tools sometimes.

And all my recent drawings are secret, so here's a doodle.

Viviane, thanks so much for visiting me and being lovely! I am sure I recognise your icon but I haven't been here before...I might have seen it in comments on another blog?
Good to meet you anyway, oh famous author - Adventures of a Nose - with the brilliant Mr Stewart! (takes hat off and bows respectfully)

Great drawing! I think I want my first tattoo! What kind of pencils are they? I just switched to derwent for my graphite pencils. I'd been using staedler for years. I was crazy! Haope you find your hobbit slippers.

Haha! That's fun... I've just recently started colouring in my pencil drawings and studies because a freind looked at them and saidn "I wish they wree in colour" and I said something like "well they AREN'T, huff!!!" but then I secretly went and coloured them all in and it turned out to be great fun.

I use Derwent drawing pencils for coloured line, but my main drawing pencils are actually souvenir pencils. I used to use Faber Castell and suchlike but then noticed one day that for some reason souvenir pencils have a tendency to be just right - about 2B and slightly washy. Since I live in London I got a good steady supply...

I better do some more non-secret drawings and doodles to post. Maybe more little dog animals actually... hey didn't I want to go and draw yours, Laura? I suggest more tea in the park, in this sort of weather... do you go to Dulwich park sometimes? I haven't been in aaages! Would be ideal dog drawing outing!!!

Oh and I forgot to say: Hello Gretel, yes, I turn up a bit on Erics' and Stephs' blogs! I am absolutely amazed that I've missed out on your needle-felting. And I looked in my work-box and as I thought there's a felting needle my sister gave me years ago, still in its wrapping. I will so get that out and stab some wool!

:) Haha someone remembers the Nose book... that was a weird one... I've done some of my own since, and more are coming along!

Oh, and Wolff Carbon pencils are brilliant, too. Souvenir pencils for doodles and detailed studies and Derwent and Wolff for the looser, "proper" drawings I do after I've worked out what things look like. But I don't do many of them at the mo, too much working-out-work to be done yet.
