So... Yeah.

Am a bit sleepy.
Last night I was sleeping unusually soundly and comfortably until at midnight someone ran the lamp-post outside my window down. It folded right into next door's front yard. At one, the carbon monoxide alarm malfunctioned. Around two there were bright flashing lights and the noise of the lamp-post being sawn down. At some point the burglar alarm downstairs tripped. Now here I am scribbling cats without much deep thought.

Agh! Blogger keeps messing up. Anyway, AMAZING picture! What are your influences Viviane? Your work is so unique.

Hah! Thanks! Hmmm, good question... I think most of my influences are half-remembered books from the 70s/80s. But I think some impression was made by were Picasso, Tove Jansson, Max Ernst, Tomi Ungerer, Franz Wittkamp, Klaus Ensikat, Andy Warhol, Maurice Sendak and Heinz Edelmann, but I don't quite know how.
Actually I've wondered where the ink drawings come from, in particular. I woke up one day thinking "Hey, I got an idea how to draw stuff with a brush and a pen" and it worked. I must be copying someone somehow but I really can't figure it out. Ah well...
