Hmmm. I think I'll leave it now and start a new one. Not completely right with the brightness and shadow, too much contrast in places, but a dappled forest is a bit of a tall order for a first try. Next I'll do some street scene maybe!
Really? Hey I must be getting somewhere... Thanks!
MM I'm happy with the palette (I mixed the same shade of blue into everything except some patches of pure red to make it hang together) but I am still not getting the hand of making things in the background MORE blue to make them retreat into the athmosphere, or something like that... I got a bit overexcited about the little trees and then a bit unsure about the big tree on the left. Ah well! I'm happy with the red guy though! He looks just like I imagined.
Gosh I couldn't stick to that... I always need something to experiment about first, like suddenly wanting to work out something. But then I hardly ever doodle either, or do exercises or life drawing... I always need a specific question to answer. - Well, I hope you'll show your experiments!

This is my favorite thing I've seen you do. It's really wonderful. The pallette is great and I love the expressions. I need to experiment more.

You've made me resolve to do 1 or 2 experimental pieces a week. Right now I'm drawing an egret on the moon.
